January Meeting 2011

We DID reschedule and we had  a wonderful time!  Here are some pics of the meeting.

Judy Johnson giving a testimony about leading her first soul to the Lord!  What a blessing!  What a great way to start off the new year!  What a great way to "See Jesus"; the theme of the meeting!

Ladies listening to Judy!  So sweet!

See the previous post to see some of the things we did at the meeting.  It was a great meeting!  I'm glad we rescheduled!

Don't forget our meeting in March.  This will feature the "E" in "Jesus"!  I have already received some ideas on foods that start with "e".  It should be good!  Come see!

Blessings on the Smith Family leaving to Argentina

Jennifer and  Joshua Smith, a sweet, dedicated young couple  are planning on leaving Friday, Jan., 28, for Argentina with their young children, Joel and Amelia.  We prayed a special prayer  for them at our January Meeting.  Many from our church have been friends and  acquainted with them for several years.

After their son, Joel, was diagnosed with cancer a year ago, several more people from our church began following them and praying for them, and keeping up with his condition.  Several months ago they visited our church and gave their missionary presentation, and we added them on as monthly supported missionaries.    After meeting them, of course, many of us have been very concerned about them and praying for the healing of Joel and for their continued desire to go to the mission field.

After many months of chemo and many hospitalizations, Joel's last test to see if the cancer was gone, came back negative, and there are no signs of cancer.  Praise the Lord!

They are now on their way!  We are so thankful for the way God has answerd prayer in their lives, and so blessed to meet this young family and to see their constant reliance on the grace and power of God!

We wanted to show them just a small expression of our thoughts and prayers, so each woman that attended the fellowship meeting in January signed this post just to let them know that we rememberd them and  will continue to lift them up in prayer.

January Meeting - A s-no-w Go

The snow we got on January 20, 2011 resulted in a cancellation for the January meeting.  Sorry!

Here is a little glimpse of what would have been:

All the food would have started with the letter "J".  In honor of our church's  "We would see J E S U S" theme for the year, we are doing an acrostic for"  "JESUS" with the food each time.  I think there was going to be Jan's Jam Crackers or Carmelita's Jam Biscuits.  Sarah Morrison was planning on cooking us up some  Jumbilia, (spelling?).  That would have warmed us up, wouldn't it!,  Chrissy Watts was going to surprise us with something that starts with a "J"!  Michelle Minor was going to bring her juicer and we were going to try our hand at juicing some fresh fruits and vegetables!  Yes some fresh carrot juice! YUM!   It was going to be jummy,  I mean yummy!!!!!!

Then, we would have had an awesome ice breaker.  They're always good in January!

Sarah Morrison didn't know it, but I was going to ask her to do a devo on the mothers in the Bible that she has been studying about.

We would have gone over the year's plans for the church events and the whos, whats, whens and wheres of  them all.  We still get to do this, ladies, I just don't know exactly when, but sometime soon, the Lord willing.  We haveta!

We would have sung some beautiful songs, had  a sweet time of praising and thanking the Lord for His blessings, as well as sharing our burdens with each other.

A door prize would have been given.  It might have been more like a "white elephant" gift (oh that's not nice to say to ladies in January, is it?!), but non the less, a door prize.

We would have had a wonderful time of fellowship!

There would have been great childcare for those with small kiddos. YAY!

We sometimes have a surprise or two at our meetings, so I guess we will just have to keep guessing what or who that might have been!

So, I guess we will have to wait for March now.  Then all the food will begin with the letter "e"!  If anyone has any suggestions what food can be used with the letter "u", please let me know before, uh, July or September!

Wow!  This sounds like so much fun, we may have to see if we can work a re-schedule into the calendar for next week!

I just want to let all of you ladies know how much I appreciate you!  You are such a blessing!  Looking forward to the next meeting......whenever that may be....here or, seeing JESUS for real in the air.

Love, in Christ,
Your Sister In Service,  Gail
